Digital Projection Ltd Supports Production Show for Third Consecutive Year
Digital Projection Display Technology Utilised to Maximise Impact of Seminars to Wow Audiences

8th March 2001 - Digital Projection Limited - a wholly owned subsidiary
of IMAX Corporation - today announced that the Production Show 2001 has
exclusively selected its Digital Projection projectors for two of the
exhibition's main seminar rooms. The announcement marks the third
consecutive year Digital Projection has provided projectors for what
promises to be the most vibrant and progressive business event for the
UK production industry this year.
Digital
Projection will provide two high performance LIGHTNING 15sx projectors
for the Production Show 13th - 15th March 2001 at the National Hall,
Olympia. The Digital Production Festival, produced in association with
Sony, is one of the highlights of the exhibition and will be supported
by the Digital Projection LIGHTNING display. With 12,000 ANSI lumens
brightness and a resolution of 1280 x 1024, the LIGHTNING 15sx
projector will provide maximum impact to presentations for today's
production community providing an insight into the major issues
affecting their industry. The UK manufactured projector will screen
innovative material and display the latest programme techniques
presented by leading industry figures including Michael Grade,
Chairman, Pinewood Studios and Dave Klafkowski, Director of Operations,
The Farm Group. The second LIGHTNING 15sx projector will support the
Sony Workshops which include topics such as; Are formats a thing of the
past?; Tools for New Media Production; A filmmaker's guide to high
definition; and A cut above - Sony's new multi-resolution non-linear
platform.
The
Digital Projection LIGHTNING range of projection displays are dynamic
projection devices engineered and produced in Manchester, England for
dramatic indoor and outdoor large screen applications for all
entertainment and business environments. With light outputs from 9,000
to more than 12,000 ANSI lumens, the LIGHTNING Displays assure bright,
film-like and attention-getting images on any screen size.
The
highly acclaimed LIGHTNING 15sx projector features Digital Light
Processing™ technology from Texas Instruments. To make the most of this
technology, Digital Projection has added its own proprietary optical,
illumination and signal processing technologies. The result is stunning
large screen reproduction of all images, whether originating in video
or computer format. The unparalleled image clarity is partially created
by the products' displayable colour spectrum of over one billion
colours - nearly equivalent to the spectrum discernable by the human
eye.
