Cutting Edge Digital Projection Display Technology Featured on Booths 511 and 436
Manchester,
23rd May 2001 - Digital Projection Limited (DPL) - a wholly owned
subsidiary of IMAX Corporation - together with their distributor in
Seoul Korea, Korea Avics Co., Ltd, are delighted to present a selection
of products from the range of LIGHTNING & HIGHlite Displays plus
the new DIGIMAX™M digital cinema projection system at the 11th Korea
International Broadcast, Audio and Lighting Equipment Show (KOBA) 2001,
30th May to 2nd June 2001.
The
Digital Projection HIGHlite & LIGHTNING Displays are dynamic
projection devices engineered for dramatic indoor and outdoor large
screen applications for all entertainment and business environments.
With light outputs from 3,000 to more than 12,000 ANSI lumens, the
HIGHlite and LIGHTNING Displays assure bright, film-like and
attention-getting images on any screen size.
Digital
Projection's displays are the result of a ten year development
programme between themselves and Texas Instruments. At the heart of
each Digital Projection Display is the compelling Digital Light
ProcessingTM technology from Texas Instruments. To make the most of
this technology, Digital Projection has added its own proprietary
optical, illumination and signal processing technologies. The result is
stunning large screen reproduction of all images, whether originating
in video or computer format. The unparalleled image clarity is
partially created by the products' displayable colour spectrum of over
one billion colours - nearly equivalent to the spectrum discernable by
the human eye.
The
highly acclaimed LIGHTNING 15sx projector, with 12,000 ANSI lumens
brightness (a native resolution of 1280 x 1024) and HIGHLTE 6000sx,
with 5,000 ANSI lumens brightness (a native resolutuion of 1280 x 1024)
will be demonstrated on booth 511 at Convention Hall & the highly
acclaimed POWER 8gv projector, with 7,500 ANSI lumens (a native
resolution of 1024 x 768) will be demonstrated on booth 439 at Atlantic
Hall at KOBA 2001 by Digital Projection Limited and their distributor
in Seoul Korea, Korea Avics Co., Ltd.
The
DIGIMAX™ projectors, based on DLP Cinema™ technology by Texas
Instruments, are the leading display platform for theatres,
postproduction facilities and screening rooms equipped to provide
digital cinema programming. DPL is the only digital projection company
to provide customers with a variety of models suited for the varied
needs of the industry. At KOBA, the DIGIMAX™ projector featuring a
standard lamp cabinet, similar to those used with traditional film
projectors will be on displayed on booth 511. This model is of
comparable design to the projection systems installed in the Texas
Instruments/Technicolor/Disney pilot digital cinema network.
Each
DIGIMAXTM projector can be configured with variable lamp illumination
to deliver SMPTE standard 12 Ft.L on screens up to 50-ft. wide. A
variety of "quick-change" anamorphic and zoom lens options are
available to deliver imagery at any film aspect ratio. At the heart of
each DIGIMAX™ projector is a three-chip DLP Cinema™ design that
generates 1000:1 contrast for powerful black levels and color
uniformity unmatched in the digital cinema world.
All
DIGIMAX™ units feature flawless integration with every major digital
hi-definition format. All digital servers and playback devices are
compatible via serial digital inputs and the projectors support SMPTE
292M bit-serial interface standards. Input source compatibility, for
alternative programming, is available to beautifully display HDTV and
satellite broadcasts for extended programming in theatres.
