LIGHTNING 25sx Projector The First 14000 ANSI Lumen Projector

Manchester, UK. 1st February 2002: Once again Digital Projection International leads the way in the large venue projection market with it's release of the LIGHTNING 25sx projector. The launch of this projector takes the market to new heights and maintains the position of DPI as the leading innovator for DLP™ projection systems. The expectation is that the Digital Projection Lightning Displays integrate the most stunning images with operational simplicity. With the introduction of the Lightning 25sx they have exceeded all expectations.

Perfectly suited for staging, entertainment, business, education, simulation, religion, command & control and broadcast environments, no other imaging technology approaches the visual beauty and sophistication of the projectors made by DPI.

At 14000 ANSI lumens and SXGA resolution, the Lightning 25sx is the world's brightest projector. The astonishing brilliance of the projector is complemented by a palette of more than 1 billion colours, absolute greyscale tracking and luminance uniformity greater than 90%. The on-screen results are engaging video, HDTV and computer imagery with an inherent "Film Look" appeal.

Summary of Features and Benefits of the LIGHTNING 25sx include:

  • Overall design gives the LIGHTNING 25sx high light output 14000 ANSI lumens, reliability and robustness.
  • Based on the proven LIGHTNING platform
  • Robust cold mirror mount giving stable light output and uniformity
  • Significant improvements in internal construction and thermal management.
  • Enhanced optical efficiency giving increased light output, making the LIGHTNING 25sx the brightest large venue projector in the world
  • Increased bandwidth for analogue inputs
  • Simple lamp replacement
  • Lamp access cover rotatable to direct air exhaust upwards or downwards
  • Direct remote control cable connection eliminating any external adaptor
  • Easily replaceable air filter
  • Reduced noise level o Intelligent lens mount allows automatic switching between zoom and position settings for sources with different aspect ratios i.e. 4:3, 16:9 with sub-pixel accuracy
  • Lens mode manual or automatic selectable
  • Automatic source selection for computer and video sources
  • Increased compatibility with DVD players
  • New colour adjustment features
    • User global colour setting enabling overall colour to be set to match the room environment
    • Colour trim per source memory for fine adjustment of individual sources
    • Colour adjustment with unparalleled accuracy
  • Additional user selectable gamma settings
  • User downloadable and user defined gamma settings
  • New geometry features allowing user definable aspect ratios, size, position and shape of the image
  • A new blanking feature allowing image cropping
  • All geometry settings can be individually set per source memory
  • Enhanced 'Film Look' features permitting user adjustment of telecine interpolation, including smoothing of poor film edits
  • Lamp power setting now stored per source memory, allowing perceived brightness to be maintained with changing aspect ratios and image sizes
  • Projector run hours displayed on digital display on rear panel
  • Redesign improves ease of maintenance
