BLACKLITE, THE FIRST PROJECTOR WITH 1200:1 CONTRAST RATIO FROM DIGITAL PROJECTION

The world's first dark metal 3-chip DLP™ compact projector offering cinema quality pictures for every environment

Manchester, UK. 15th July 2002: Digital Projection International (DPI), the world leading digital projector manufacturer based in Manchester, today announced the addition of three new projectors to its successful product line-up. This BLACKLITE range has been specifically designed for where only cinema quality super high contrast images are acceptable.

The BLACKLITE range offers light output levels from 3000-7000 ANSI lumens to suit every application. All the projectors utilise the unique dark metal Thunder DMDs which are the core enabling device of this 3-Chip DLP™ system offering SXGA (1280 x 1024) resolution with optional SD-SDi or HD-SDi. This DLP™ technology coupled with special lenses and Digital Projection's optical know-how offers this class-leading contrast level of 1200:1. This dark metal chip technology has only previously been available in D-Cinema projection units but now Digital Projection brings this technology to every possible environment. Specifically well suited where ambient light levels can be controlled such as home theatre, command and control and the simulation market.

All the BLACKLITE range features as standard composite, component and DVI inputs. A unique link mode function offers conversion of analogue and digital sources to DVI output, making them ideal for easy stacking and multiple link capability where required.

The three new BLACKLITE projectors, available in June 2002, feature a rigid chassis design, integrated carry handles and mounting points. Each projector includes memorised lens mount for automatic optical resizing between aspect ratios, a quiet 48dB and seamless switching, which allow clean and continuous displays perfect for any application.

The highly acclaimed 3-chip dark metal DLP™ technology from Texas Instruments can be found at the heart of these new BLACKLITE displays, enabling the projectors to produce stunning image quality for which Digital Projection is renowned.
