DIGITAL PROJECTION UNVEILS NEW 2K X 1K RESOLUTION STAGING PROJECTOR DURING PRIVATE DEMONSTRATIONS IN DALLAS
Leading Staging Companies from Around the World Given Sneak Preview of LIGHTNING 35HD at Texas Instruments' DLP Headquarters
MANCHESTER,
UK & KENNESAW, Ga., (December 1, 2003) – Digital Projection
International (DPI), an Emmy® Award-winning manufacturer of
high-performance projection systems, announced it unveiled its new 2048
x 1080 pixel, 3-chip DLP™ LIGHTNING 35HD projector to a select group of
staging company executives during two private demonstrations. The
demonstrations were held on November 19 and 20 at the DLP™ division
headquarters of Texas Instruments in Plano, Texas.
The
staging executives who attended the demonstration were given a thorough
overview of DPI's third-generation LIGHTNING projector and were treated
to a dynamic demonstration of its operational features and performance
benefits. These influential attendees were the first to see the
LIGHTNING 35HD in action.
"Based on
what we viewed today, the 35HD will be an outstanding imaging tool for
our business", said Josh Weisberg, president of Scharff Weisberg Inc.
"The customers who rely on us to stage their events expect powerful
imagery displayed on dramatic, even immersive, wide-screen aspect
ratios. The 35HD looks to be the perfect large-venue display to support
their shows and creativity, long into the future."
According
to Mike Levi, president of Digital Projection, Inc, the private
demonstration of the third-generation LIGHTNING series is a critical
element of DPI's product refinement and launch.
"Over
the past year, the input we received from these most trusted experts of
the staging industry has guided DPI's product definition and
development of the LIGHTNING 35HD," said Mike Levi. "From a mechanical,
electronic and maintenance perspective, the product has been tailored
to meet the needs of their businesses and customers. We wanted the
stagers to be the first to experience this one-of-a-kind projector, and
contribute one more round of guidance before we launch full production."
The
LIGHTNING 35HD will be officially positioned in Digital Projection's
product line-up in early December and will begin shipping in Q1 2004.
It is the successor to the LIGHTNING 28sx which, when introduced in
2001, was the world's brightest 3-chip DLP™ projector.
Digital
Projection's LIGHTNING displays have been used exclusively during the
Academy Awards®, Grammy Awards® and Emmy Awards® shows, and are widely
regarded as the most precise imaging tools available in the staging and
large-venue entertainment industries
