PROJECTION INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES THE FIRST COMMERCIAL SCREENING OF
THE WORLD'S FIRST INTEGRATED AND COMPACT 2K x 1K RESOLUTION DLP CINEMA™

MANCHESTER, UK, (March
06, 2004) – Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy®
Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, is
proud to announce the first UK commercial sale and screening of a
digital film on the iS15-2K. This is the world's first DLP Cinema™
electronics in a fully-integrated compact chassis.
The
screenings are taking place at the Birmingham Screen Festival in the UK
from the 04 - 11 March 2004. The project came to fruition after an
extensive market trial by Arts Alliance Media in the UK Digital Cinema
market and culminated in the purchase of these units.
Arts
Alliance Media are providing the Birmingham Screen Festival with a full
digital cinema service including provision of the iS15-2K digital
cinema projector. This iS15-2K is being supported by a Digital
Projection iS10 digital cinema projector and will be used in
conjunction with two digital cinema servers.
According
to Thomas Hoegh, CEO of Arts Alliance Media, "AA Media are committed to

The Birmingham Screen Festival is showing a number of films digitally, including Finding Nemo, Modern Times, Red, White and Blues and Feel Like Going Home.

DPI's
delivery of the iS15-2K continues the trend of the company being the
first-to-market with the most technologically-advanced DLP Cinema™
projectors. DPI was the first to offer an integrated 1.3 million pixel
DLP Cinema™ projector, the iS10 in 1999. This was followed by the
world's first 2K, console-based DLP Cinema™ projector, the cS25 and in
December 2003 the world's first 2K integrated unit, the iS15. This
latest iS15-2K will be based at The Other Cinema, in Soho, London.
