DIGITAL PROJECTION ANNOUNCES NEW 16 x 9 ASPECT RATIO HOME CINEMA PROJECTION SYSTEM FEATURING 3-CHIP DLP™ TECHNOLOGY

- Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy Award-winning
manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, announced the
launch of a new home entertainment-oriented and cost-effective
projection display based on 3-chip DLP™ technology by Texas
Instruments, the MERCURY HD. The 1280 x 720 native resolution MERCURY
HD will be formally introduced at CEDIA Expo (Booth #1204, September 3
to 7, Indianapolis, IN).
The MERCURY HD delivers 1,750 ANSI lumens and 2400:1 contrast ratio and
features Texas Instruments' Dark Metal™ DMD's for superior black-level
performance. It employs a low-cost, long-life High Intensity Discharge
(HID) lamp system and can be outfitted with a variety of fixed and
power zoom lenses. The MERCURY HD is ideal for small to medium-sized
home theaters, multi-function family rooms or dedicated media rooms.
