DPI ANNOUNCES PRO SERIES II FLAGSHIP DISPLAYS
New Electronics And Cross-Compatibility Bring Harmony To The Product Line

ATLANTA, GA, (May 29, 2007) – Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmyâ Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, announced that a variety of groundbreaking features in electronics and rigging capability have been introduced in the company’s new Pro Series II line of precision DLP® displays.  Enhancements to color calibration, optics cooling and rigging hardware have promoted the change.

Recently introduced in the new high-brightness TITAN and LIGHTNING platforms, as well as the single-chip iVision and dVision series, DP’s exclusive ColorMaxTM technology refers to advanced color calibration features inherent in the electronics of a Digital Projection display.  In the TITAN family of projectors, an incredible amount of user control over color balance is available.  While most projectors only allow the user to adjust values affecting the white point of a projector, the new TITAN and LIGHTNING projectors are equipped with Enhanced 7-point color correction features that allow the user to pinpoint exact values of white, red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow.  The settings can be manipulated via a standard web browser when the projector is present on a network.  Once a profile is saved, the exact same results can be achieved on any other DP projector equipped with this feature.  For color-critical applications, or for creating completely unified blended arrays, DP’s Enhanced 7-point color correction feature is an incredible asset to the projectionist or integrator.  Also a component of the ColorMaxTM feature set, TITAN projectors are equipped with a Xenon color mode.  When activated, a yellow notch filter is precisely positioned into the light path and advanced electronics processing is enabled, allowing the projector to closely replicate the spectral performance of a xenon lamp.

Advanced cooling technology has also been introduced for the Pro Series II platform.  Known as CoolTekTM Engineering, light engine and lamp cooling mechanisms have been implemented to maximize projector performance and lower operating cost.  On the LIGHTNING products, DP’s HyperCooled lamp module, engineered with a proprietary, directional-flow reflector mask and radial heat exchanger, dramatically improves projector thermal characteristics and extends reflector life, lamp life and lumen maintenance.  In turn, these operating benefits provide a significant reduction to cost of operation and long-term cost of ownership, while also enhancing component reliability.   Also on the LIGHTNING products, DP’s exclusive DirectFlowTM technology provides active cooling of the DMD’s inside the light engine to allow maximum illumination while still operating well within thermal tolerances.  In TITAN projectors, SilentStreamTM cooling is achieved through an array of DC controlled “smart fans” driven by thermal sensors.  The incredibly quiet system manages fan speed based on thermal feedback, thus, fans operate at the minimal speed required to achieve optimal temperature within each venue.

Improvements to DP’s signature Pro Series rigging and stacking frame have brought forth an even more capable system for stagers.  The new RapidRigTM frames are equipped with pitch, roll and yaw controls for making precise  3-axis adjustments to projectors while mounted to truss and/or in stacked configurations.

Digital Projection will be showcasing the new Pro Series II projectors at infoComm in Anaheim (booth #2419, Large Venue Gallery #3).
