DPI Leads Display Innovation At ISE 2008
After many years of exhibiting almost exclusively at infoComm U.S., Digital Projection made a prominent return to European exhibitions at January’s Integrated Systems Europe tradeshow in Amsterdam. Having recently celebrated DP’s 10th anniversary and the opening of a new division in China, the ISE tradeshow was the perfect opportunity to focus on the European commercial A/V market. ISE is recognized as an integral international trade show, and an estimated 20,000 attendees were on hand to see Digital Projection’s exciting range of precision displays.
The goal of the team at DPL was to accentuate the respected reputation of the company with an impact-driven exhibit. Thankfully, DP’s participation in the show was widely acknowledged. In only 3 days, an inspiring showcase of DLP® projection expertise was carefully engineered, featuring the multi-faceted TITAN product range.
With little time available for setup, it took dedication, focus, and a lot of imaginative brainstorming to create an exhibit that represented Digital Projection’s status as world leaders in the projection market. Using 28 TITAN HD-500 projectors on a single curved screen configured for rear projection, the DPL team created a display that was immersive, powerful and resolute. A Dataton Watchout system was utilized to warp and edge blend all 28 projectors on the 50’ wide by 20’ tall screen, creating a single unified image. Projector alignment and color balance were critical and the DPL team utilized the full ColorMax calibration features of the Pro Series II projectors.
Additionally, a compelling demonstration of active 3D was achieved via a single LIGHTNING 45HD-3D projector as a “picture-in-picture” source inside the main blended array. As DP’s newest and brightest active 3D projector, the LIGHTNING 45HD-3D produces 30,000 lumens and delivers active 3D at a refresh rate of 120Hz. The impact of the total demonstration was clearly evident as show attendees were astounded by the 26,000,000 pixel, 224,000 lumen display.
The positive feedback from attendees and even industry competitors was overwhelming and greatly appreciated. Amazingly, it was conceptualized, constructed, showcased and then packed on the truck in just over 3 days. The ISE Europe show was a true testament to Digital Projection’s desire and ability to surpass industry expectations, regardless of the challenges involved. |
