SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL - ONCE AGAIN - RELIES ON PROJECTORS BY DIGITAL PROJECTION INTERNATIONAL FOR DIGITAL SCREENINGS
First-Ever Digital Screenings at Opening Ceremonies Highlights the Event for DPI
KENNESAW,
GA, (January 8, 2004) - Digital
Projection International (DPI), an Emmy Award-winning manufacturer of
high-performance projection systems, is the Official Provider of
digital projectors for all digital format screenings at the Sundance
Film Festival (January 15 to 25, Park City, Utah) for the seventh
consecutive year. For the first time in the festival's history, the
opening night ceremonies' screenings in Park City and Salt Lake City
will be in digital format.
At this year's Festival, every category will have digital entries,
including high-definition premieres, documentaries, features and
shorts. More than 40-percent of the 223 scheduled screenings will be
displayed in digital format by DPI, which represents the highest total
in the Festival's history. DPI's projectors will also be employed as
set elements for the festival's internationally televised Awards
Ceremony.

DPI will provide its high-performance LIGHTNING, THUNDER and HIGHlite
3-chip DLP™ based projectors for use in sixteen theaters/venues,
including the auditorium where the Awards ceremony will take place, the
Park City Racquet Club.

The opening night ceremonies' movies are Riding Giants (co-written and
directed by Stacy Peralta), which will be shown during the Park City
ceremony, and Edge of America (directed by Chris Eyre), which will be
shown during the Salt Lake City ceremony.
