DIGITAL PROJECTION'S POWER 5gv AWARDED EDITORS CHOICE AT NAB 98 Television Broadcast Magazine selects new projector "Best of Show" KENNESAW, GA, (April 27, 1998) - Digital Projection today announced the POWER 5gv (graphics/video) projector, a large-venue presentation, entertainment and multimedia display was awarded Television Broadcast Magazine "Editors' Pick of the Show" at the 1998 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference, in Las Vegas. "These awards, voted by those who work in broadcasting and teleproduction, signify the best of the newest products and technologies shown at NAB," said Michael Silbergleid, Television Broadcast's editor. Any editor, contributor or writer can nominate a product or technology for a 'Pick of the Show.' To qualify, this must be the product's/technology's first appearance at NAB or be a major upgrade," said Silbergleid. The POWER 5gv, the most recent POWER Display manufactured by Digital Projection, was launched at NAB and will begin shipping in May '98. Based on a 1024 x 768 Digital Light Processing™ (DLP) three-chip design and capable of over 5000 ANSI lumens, the new projector elevates resolution performance for large-screen applications requiring precision detail from video and data sources, while maintaining Digital Projection's trademark super-high-brightness, said Mike Levi, Digital Projection's president of North American operations. "To be recognized by a leading publisher in the broadcast market is a great reward for the development we have invested in our recent POWER Displays projectors," Levi added. "Broadcasters have very discerning eyes, among the toughest of anyone. And for them to see in our projector what we have proclaimed all along, really confirms the magnitude of our technology. Nothing compares to a POWER Display." The POWER 5gv, North American list price $95,995, joins a proven line of POWER Displays, all based on Texas Instruments' DLP technology. Adding proprietary illumination, signal processing, and optical technology has enabled Digital Projection to engineer projection systems that represent the highest performance in the industry, Levi added. "The POWER 5gv is a natural evolution of our earlier products and will certainly build on the success we have achieved to date," said Levi. "We received a great deal of positive feedback from existing customers, prospects, dealers and producers about our powerful booth presentation throughout NAB. Nearly everyone we spoke with commented on our amazing performance in our first year. To have this feedback complemented by Television Broadcast recognizing the 5gv as the most significant projection device at the show obviously thrilled us all," said Levi. The POWER Displays line of projectors is a result of eight years of revolutionary development between Digital Projection and Texas Instruments®. POWER Displays represent the highest-level execution of Texas Instruments' 3-chip, Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology. Written by Tim J. Butler Emmy is a registered
