Music, VIPs and LASERS Light Up InfoComm Live

Digital Projection at InfoComm LIVE 2014

InfoComm Live, the annual event aimed at delivering business leadership strategies to live-event and staging principals, went big in 2014. Beluga whale big! Numerous speakers throughout the two-day event in late February dispensed future planning advice, workforce development strategies and more within the beautiful Georgia Aquarium in downtown Atlanta.

Digital Projection at InfoComm LIVE 2014

With so many industry and staging partners attending the InfoComm LIVE event in DP's home town, the perfect opportunity to launch our brand-new 10,000 lumen HIGHlite LASER projector presented itself.

The same week, team members from each of DP's Manufacturer Rep partners made the trek to Atlanta for two days of intensive training, product roadmap discussions and all-around team building. This all-hands-on-deck session rose to a crescendo with a night of live rock and roll, food, networking and large-scale projection at Atlanta's Hard Rock Cafe.

In addition to revealing the new HIGHlite LASER projector on a huge 12' screen to the hundreds of attendees, DP's guests were treated to live music by two bands, both containing either DP team members or DP industry partners and Reps.

Many thanks to everyone that joined us in Atlanta for an action-packed week. Watch for news regarding DP's InfoComm plans, as we have plenty more surprises in store for 2014.

Maritime, Simulation and Visualization Professionals - Make the Switch, Forget the Bulbs

Staging Corner

Click to read the full article

It's time to consider a bulb-less projector upgrade for your projector display system.

Why pay for lamp replacements and maintenance when you can buy an LED projector that outperforms similar lamp-based projectors for roughly the same cost? New projectors from Digital Projection enlisting LED illumination now offer brightness to spare for simulators and visualization environments.

Key reasons to consider an LED projector upgrade in your simulator:

Never purchase or swap lamps again!
    • LED brightness looks the same or brighter than most projectors currently installed on most 25' radius or smaller ship bridge simulators
    • LEDs last over 60,000 hours and maintain their brightness over that period
    • LED color is more vivid than bulb projectors - navigation buoys are easily identified at range
    • Color matching between projector channels is easier to maintain due to almost no color drift and no brightness drift
    • Night time maneuvering and poor weather scenes will look more realistic

Sapphire Roadshow in Boston Highlights New 1-chip, 3-chip and Laser displays

2014 Sapphire Roadshow, Boston

Sapphire Marketing, DP's Commercial and Home Cinema Rep throughout the Northeast, executed another well-orchestrated roadshow in Boston this March. Attracting high-profile consultants, end users and integrators from across the Northeast, the Sapphire show consistently allows DP and numerous manufacturers across the audio/video industry to reveal new products to a specialized group. This year's Boston show was no exception.

2014 Sapphire Roadshow, Boston Digital Projection displayed four projectors, some new and some already proven. The 1,000 lumen M-Vision LED and 5,500 HIGHlite 330 represented the well-respected solutions category, displaying beautiful imagery to DNP screens under medium ambient light conditions.

Two new displays also illuminated the booth, attracting an impressive amount of interest. DP's new E-Vision WUXGA 4500, a remarkably compact yet powerful budget display, brightened one corner, while the new 10,000 lumen HIGHlite LASER projector commanded a wall of the exhibit space.

2014 Sapphire Roadshow, Boston

In addition to the attendees mentioned above, DP also had the chance to introduce select members of the EH Publishing team to the new Laser projector. You can view the resulting Q&A and videos by clicking here.

Many thanks to everyone that came to visit with us in Boston, and a hearty CONGRATULATIONS and thank-you to the Sapphire Marketing team for another great show!

K2 Imaging relies on Digital Projection

Click here to watch a video recap of the event.

K2 Imaging, a long-time DP staging partner, recently partnered with George Del Barrio of The Vanderbilt Republic to bring a celebration of conceptual dance and projected imagery to the Gowanus Loft in NYC.

K2 Imaging enlisted numerous single-chip E-Vision WUXGA 8000 projectors for the atmospheric projected imagery, enlisting the loft's distinct architectural touches as projection surfaces in order to enhance the distinct performance.

K2 Imaging relies on Digital Projection

Here's how the show was described in promotional materials discussing the event:
"Entitled 'Time I Know,' Rebecca Stenn's new solo show is just that, a study of time. The time we know now, the time we have known and the time we will know in the days and years ahead.

K2 Imaging relies on Digital Projection

We have time. We spend time. We kill time. We've been told since we were children, that time is money. But it's not.
Time is a blurry continuum that speeds and slows according to our attention to it. Through the use of retrograde, wraparound photographic imagery and a wildly eclectic score, Rebecca Stenn and George Del Barrio will bend and challenge our ideas of time in a personal, intimate story of moving backwards to see where you are going."

K2 Imaging relies on Digital Projection

"Time I Know" was performed from January 16th - 18th at Gowanus Loft.
Choreography & Performance: Rebecca Stenn
Photographs & Projection Design: George Del Barrio
Project Partner: K2 Imaging
Lighting Design: Kathy Kaufmann

Congratulations to everyone involved in this distinct performance, and thank you for choosing DP's precision displays!
