DP Brings Rockin' Products and Programs to InfoComm '11

Important InfoComm 2011 Update

InfoComm 2011 is just around the corner and DP has huge news to share. Although we are compelled to save the specific details of our new product announcements until just before the show, we want to give you a top level glimpse right now.

Our booth design is an all new layout, providing galleries where DP will present a selection of our most capable 1-chip and 3-chip models, as well as four very intense multi-projector application demonstrations.

In the Single-chip Gallery, iVision, M-Vision, E-Vision and dVision models will all be on stage and "dialed-in" to present a combination of powerful HD and critical graphics content. Our 3-chip Gallery will feature a variety of TITAN and HIGHlite models, presenting the same material, through maximum lumens and with the color accuracy, color saturation and contrast for which DP 3-chip projectors are legendary. The presentation will make it easy for DP partners, end-users and consultants to evaluate our products side by side, making it the perfect venue to identify the most appropriate DP solution for their projects.

DP, EON Reality and CM Salter Display 3D BIM Files at Private Event

Digital Projection Displays 3D BIM Files

Members of San Francisco's architectural community witnessed a first for their market at a recent invitation-only event held at the Charles M. Salter Associates (CSA) headquarters. Digital Projection and 3D imagery specialists EON Reality displayed full-resolution, immersive 3D BIM files during the May 19th event. Billed as the "3D BIM Party," attendees were treated to a casual atmosphere, seminars from leading 3D pioneers, and a special audio visual experience in conjunction with Meyer Sound.

Ken Graven VP and Director of Audiovisual with CSA kicked off the event, introducing DP's Southwest Regional Manager Paul Gomes as he discussed the technology behind 3D projection. Next was Mats Johansson, CEO of EON Reality, as he discussed the potential in converting BIM models to interactive 3D models. DP's 12,000 lumen TITAN WUXGA Dual 3D supplied the stunning 2D and 3D imagery throughout both presentations.

Johansson then surprised the attendees with a 3D cathedral demonstration that caused quite a stir. A Meyer Sound Constellation system, in conjunction with the TITAN 3D, paired 3D imagery and surround audio to simulate the acoustic conditions of a cathedral-like space. This inspired a good deal of discussion, as questions began to fly and the possibilities of what 3D immersion can deliver began to permeate. Attendees witnessed first-hand how the combination of real-time 3D visuals with acoustical simulation is a powerful way to immerse people in different spaces.

Projector Innovation Update: Introducing the M-Vision WUXGA LED IR

We have exciting news regarding one of our most innovative projectors to date. DP recently began shipping our first "Night Vision" suitable projector, specifically designed to support training applications in the Simulation community.

The M-Vision WUXGA LED-IR uses our "conventional" RGB LED illumination system, as well as an additional fourth LED dedicated to the infrared spectrum. The IR LED supports the projectors use with Night Vision Goggles (NVG).

NVGs are designed to allow users to operate at night with increased operational capability and situational awareness. Most importantly, NVG-illuminated projectors address a critical need for those that will be operating equipment while wearing NVGs, as these displays enable extensive pre-deployment training. Simulators enlisting the IR-capable M-Vision will play a key role in the overall training regimen for these operations.

RONALD REAGAN PRESIDENTIAL MUSEUM - SIMI VALLEY, CA
Design & Production, Inc.

Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum Uses Digital Projection

On February 7, 2011, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum unveiled 26,400 square feet of new exhibits to the public. Virginia-based Design and Production Inc.(D&P) accomplished the integration and fabrication of the new space with their usual impeccable attention to detail and insistence on visitor interaction. Specialists in "total service" production and installation of interpretive exhibits and media systems for museums and other institutional clients, D&P previously completed an equally impressive renovation for the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library.

Coinciding with President Reagan's 100th birthday celebration and centennial festivities, the museum underwent a $15 million, 30,000-square-foot transformation that chronicles the 40th president's life through interactive programming, captivating stories, and stunning artifacts.

Visitors can examine pieces of the Berlin Wall, plan a State Dinner with an interactive touchtable, and even "co-star" alongside President Reagan in the movie, Knute Rockne: All American.

The space is visually stunning, with numerous theaters, interactive touch tables and hands-on AV-enabled activity areas throughout. Fourteen Digital Projection single-chip projectors, including dVision 30-1080p and iVision 30-108p displays, deliver the theater and touch table content.

QUICK REFERENCE TO DIGITAL PROJECTION'S PRODUCT LINE

In the early days of Digital Projection's growth, a tagline was penned to represent the company's ambition: Precision Displays for Every Venue. Fast forward to today, and our robust product range demonstrates that DP's founders could not have crafted a more appropriate brand statement.

Considering the extensive range of capabilities, performance and price points offered by our current product line, we created a simple reference guide to assist integrators and industry partners to quickly identify the DP precision displays that best suit their applications. Using two key data points – Ft. Lamberts by image size and price-point, the following table suggests the DP projectors that best match application screen size and budget needs.

The majority of DP's product platforms are available in a variety of resolutions, so this table can be used to select the platform(s) that align with the broader requirements of screen size and budget, knowing that a specific native resolution can be selected to further refine for the application.
