The Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is the largest science and energy laboratory in the United States Department of Energy. In an effort to help researches gain better understanding of their data through visualization, the ORNL Visual Task Group utilizes 27 HIGHLITE series projectors from Digital Projection for their EVEREST venue (Exploratory Visualization Environment for REsearch in Science and Technology).
The 27 HIGHLITE 4000dsx projectors are arranged in a 3 x 9 configuration to create an immersive 35 million pixel display on a screen that is 30' wide by 8' tall. Linked with ORNL's Center for Computational Sciences, the EVEREST power wall is currently used to investigate the intricacies of global climate change simulations.
