Woodstock Baptist cont. |
For
its Sunday worship services, First Baptist Woodstock projects live digital
camera feeds, hymn text and computer graphics support. Additionally, the
services are streamed live on their Web site to an average of 7,000 viewers
per week.
DPI's
projectors were selected for many reasons, according to the Church staff.
Adequate brightness was critical, because the 7,000-plus-seat sanctuary
has a great deal of uncontrollable ambient light. Also, the projectors
had to be proven and reliable, since they will be used for long periods
on many occasions. The 16,000 ANSI lumen LIGHTNING 28sx, the projector
of choice for some of the world's most widely-viewed televised events
such as the 2004 Oscars®, Grammy's® and Democratic and Republican
National Conventions, fit the bill on both fronts for First Baptist of
Woodstock.
The
most important reason the Church chose DPI's projectors, according to
Doug Whitney, First Baptist of Woodstock's Video Director, was the way
they could help Senior Pastor Johnny M. Hunt and other staff members deliver
the Church's message to its congregation in a more dynamic way. This was
especially important during the Church's very first Sunday services in
its new sanctuary in early October, which drew more than 14,000 people.
"We
could not be more pleased with DPI's LIGHTNING projectors," said
Whitney. "With these projectors, the sky's the limit. Their imaging
quality and versatility make them an exceptional support element and communications
tool for our growing congregation."
"It's
certainly been a pleasure to work with First Baptist of Woodstock and
Bill Thrasher, their A/V Consultant," said Chuck Collins, senior
market development manager, Digital Projection, Inc. "We knew how
important the audio-visual element in their new building's sanctuary was
to them, so their positive feedback has been especially gratifying."
DPI's
high-performance projectors are the choice of many Worship facilities,
including Fellowship Baptist Church in Dallas Texas, Grace Church in Eden
Prairie, Minnesota, Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky
and West Los Angeles Church in Los Angeles, California.

year we are providing projectors for at least 13 venues. Our projectors
will be utilized to

has been quite rewarding in many aspects. In fact, here is what they say
about us: "Digital Projection's elegant technology delivers an extraordinary
palette of balanced light, shadow and color to our cinema screens. We
are delighted that Digital Projection's expertise and world-class service
stand at
our side in support of independent films a the Sundance Film Festival."

Month's Tech Tip
Some of the most common
questions we receive on our applications support line have to do with
calculating screen dimensions as they pertain to various aspect ratio's.
With this handy table of formulas, you will be able to ascertain the screen
size, starting with only one dimension and the aspect ratio required for
the application.
