Oak Ridge National Laboratories' (ORNL) 30-foot by 8-foot, 35-million-pixel immersive display is comprised of three rear projection glass 'screens' and 27 HIGHlite 6000Dsx projectors (nine for each screen).
Located in its Exploratory Visualization Environment for Research in Science and Technology (EVEREST) facility, ORNL uses the display to
view and analyze massive amounts of scientific data from both simulations and instruments.
In fact, the primary focus of EVEREST is on delivering advanced visualization hardware and software tools to application scientist end-users, in support of advanced simulation. ORNL relies upon projectors by Digital Projection, along with the latest computing technologies, to make this a reality.
