3D Content Update
3D Content Update

For most of 2010, as 3D displays started making their way on the scene, the common request was for more 3D content. We have good news! The production schedule for 3D content is now quite robust, and gets stronger every day. With over 43 Blu-ray titles already in 3D, and eight more scheduled for release by mid April, 3D Blu-ray player owners now have a wide array of content available. Furthermore, ESPN 3D is in full operation, and Comcast now offers a dedicated 24/7 3D channel.

For those who have been waiting for 3D gaming, Sony's Playstation 3 now supports 3D with 38 games available in 3D, ranging from the popular Call of Duty to NBA 2K11. Once armed with the 3D firmware update, the Playstation 3 can also play 3D Blu-ray movies.

April 5th marks an anticipated date for 3D enthusiasts, as the long awaited 3D Blu-ray "TRON LEGACY" will be released. This movie features some of the most dramatic 3D imagery ever viewed on the big screen.

Chris Chinnock, president of Insight Media and chief of the 3D@Home Consortium, estimates that 100 3D films are currently in production and that more than 140 such movies will be released in theaters between 2012 and 2015. As a result, Chinnock estimates that about 200 3D movies will be available for home entertainment on Blu-ray discs next year.

So, large-screen 3D enthusiasts will soon have more than a hundred reasons to round up the family, break out the glasses, and watch Hollywood-grade 3D entertainment on the trend-setting TITAN 3D projector.
