The Direct View Newsletter: April 2019

April 2019

Spring is officially here, and we wanted to take a moment to thank our friends and partners for being in the Digital Projection family. This season has already been quite busy for Digital Projection. Earlier this month we teamed up with Crestron in Connecticut for the Crestron Masters event, and ASTRODESIGN in Las Vegas for NAB, to deliver some truly mind-blowing displays. As part of our efforts to keep you up-to-date, we hope you will enjoy this bi-monthly newsletter loaded with tips and information. Thank you for your continued support and for working with us to deliver the very best in display solutions!

What's been happening

NAB 2019Back by popular demand, Digital Projection was at the NAB show in Las Vegas for a special showing of the INSIGHT LASER 8K. Partnering with ASTRODESIGN, the world’s first native 8K DLPTM projector definitely turned some heads, and for the first time ever, presented pristine 8K in 3D!

Crestron Masters Event - Two great names of the audio-visual industry; together again for one magnificent event! Digital Projection was asked to partner with Crestron again this year and provide all of the projectors for their annual Masters event in Uncasville, CT. This gathering of the AV Industry’s top programmers and designers represented another amazing Crestron training experience.

This year Crestron Masters utilized three Titan 37000 WU’s, four M-Vision Laser 18K’s, twenty-six assorted E-Vision models, and one 1.5mm Radiance LED wall. That adds up to 354,000 projector lumens, 900 nits of LED brightness, 39 DLP chips, and more than 90 million total pixels! It’s safe to say everyone that attended was able to experience the true power of Digital Projection’s displays. It's always an honor to innovate with others within the industry and we look forward to supporting Crestron again next year!

Digital Projection E-Vision 10K projectors help a Norway Museum Set Sail

At the turn of the 20th century, the Fram voyaged to both the Arctic and Antarctic, and even carried the first person to ever reach the south pole, before coming to rest in Oslo’s Fram Museum.

Given the historical importance of the mighty vessel’s accomplishments, when the museum designed their Arctic and Antarctic exhibit, the goal was to create a world-class, immersive experience replicating the blistery conditions the crew once braved. To accomplish this, ten Digital Projection E-Vision Laser 10K projectors were custom-mounted to create a glacial backdrop, engulfing and transporting visitors to experience a remarkable voyage that took place over a hundred years ago. Tips from our experts

What exactly is Red Laser Technology and what does it do?

Projectors featuring laser phosphor illumination have become the state-of-the-art in the AV industry. Utilizing blue lasers along with a yellow phosphor wheel to create red and green light, these projectors produce a broad color gamut that meets the standards of most discerning viewers. However, color gamut can almost always be improved!

As part of our commitment to producing truly exceptional viewing experiences, Digital Projection has developed our new ColorBoost+ Red Laser technology. Integrating direct red lasers along with the blue lasers and phosphor wheel produces much more red illumination energy. Due to the narrow wavelength of the direct-red laser light, red on-screen content is displayed with greater saturation, culminating in more accurate color reproduction and more lifelike skin tones than was previously possible on single-chip DLP projectors. The resulting color gamut guarantees the projector will achieve at least the REC709 standard. Take a look at some of these models below:

The M-Vision Laser 21000 WU and E-Vision Laser 13000 WU now boast built-in ColorBoost technology along with Red Lasers to bring the most realistic and saturated colors to these 1-Chip DLP projectors. Intelligent processing brings the color performance ever closer to that of a 3-Chip DLP projector.
