Private Home Theater
DREAM CINEMA, HUNGARY

Dream Cinema relies on Digital Projection

Ultra-bright HIGHlite projector illuminates European home theater

Dream Cinema (Hungary), a Home Cinema specialist based in Hungary, needed to deliver a true cinematic experience in the beautiful private theater of a home entertainment enthusiast. In order to achieve the exacting imaging requirements in this classically-styled theater, Dream Cinema chose DP's 3-chip HIGHlite Cine 660.

Dream Cinema relies on Digital Projection
The 6-seat dedicated theater contains an 11.5' wide screen, so a high brightness, 3-chip DLP projector was required to produce images that matched the equally stunning surroundings. Of additional importance was the need for the display to be compact and quiet given the intimate size of the theater. Again, the HIGHlite 660 was the perfect choice.

Dream Cinema relies on Digital Projection
Theh installation process and display positioning was straightforward and smooth, thanks to the HIGHlite's motorized lens shift, zoom and focus that allows changes to be made to the set-up via a remote control without having to visit the projection room.

Many thanks to Dream Cinema for using DP's precision displays for elite home entertainment!

Video Tech Tip:
Fighting the Flat Panel Trend in Home Entertainment Venues

Video: Digital Projection discusses two-piece projection and flat panels

Strategies for Identifying Qualified Projection Prospects -- CLICK HERE to watch the video.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the whitepaper DP published last month on the topic of two-piece projection vs. flat panels (click here to read the whitepaper), we decided to give the discussion a more thorough exploration. With that in mind, please click the image above or click here to watch Ken Eagle, DP's training manager, guide us through a comprehensive look at two-piece projection versus flat panels.

Video Overview:
Over the past few years, flat panels have become increasingly big in screen size, while at the same time decreasing in price. Without a doubt, flat panels are creeping into smaller-screen projection applications and taking market share. This has not impacted DP up to this point - given the high light output and stellar performance of DP's projection solutions, even our lowest cost projectors are typically employed as solutions for larger screens and outdoor venues.

While it is reasonable to expect the flat panel size and cost trends will continue, we can take comfort in knowing that there are practical limits to how big flat panels can get and how low the price can become. Nonetheless, given the current threat to smaller screen projection applications, we thought it would be helpful to provide some brief suggestions to help our customers identify prospects with display applications where technical demands assure projection will remain king.
