New Radiance Home video wall from Digital Projection breaks new ground in the AV marketplace, giving systems integrators a compelling large-scale imaging option for high-end homes.

At CEDIA Expo 2024, Digital Projection broadens its micro and dvLED video wall offerings with the introduction of a line designed exclusively for residential applications. The new Radiance Home video wall gives Digital Projection dealers a compelling new large-scale imaging solution to offer their luxury home clients.

“LED video walls have long been a staple of commercial projects, but are relative newcomers in residential spaces. That’s because most solutions have been designed specifically for commercial environments,” says Digital Projection senior executive George Walter. “Demand for video walls optimized for home environments is escalating at an incredible rate, so we took the initiative this year to develop one of the first video walls engineered and designed exclusively for residential applications.”

Purpose-built for high-end home applications, Radiance Home incorporates cutting-edge design and technology to streamline deployment, support common residential applications, and meet the imaging demands of discerning residential clientele. Built into this revolutionary LED video wall are technologies and controllers to enable fast configuration of user-defined presets, Wi-Fi connectivity and integration with third-party control systems. Support of HDR (high dynamic range), 4K resolution, and REC 2020 Color Space along with a special optical coating for higher contrast optimizes the image quality.

At CEDIA Expo 2024, Digital Projection is adding a new member to its single-chip laser projector lineup. The forthcoming E-Vision 10000i RGB projector represents a major technological milestone, incorporating a host of cutting-edge technologies enabled by Texas Instruments’ all-new 0.8” HEP (high-efficiency pixel) DMD (digital micromirror device) chip.

Combined with Digital Projection’s Nexus electronics platform, the HEP DMD delivers the performance of full RGB laser technology in the smaller footprint of a laser phosphor projector. These cutting-edge, single-chip features also contribute to easier setup than conventional projectors that use three individual red, green and blue lasers.

The single-chip 4K design eliminates the artifacts and color separation commonly associated with projectors utilizing a conventional RGB color wheel, while achieving 4K+ resolution, 10,000 lumens, HDR without brightness decay, REC 2020 color space, and a contrast ratio between 2,400:1 and 3000:1.

“Our goal at Digital Projection is to continually push the performance of our projectors to deliver the most accurate, lifelike images possible. This mission is reflected in the E-Vision 10000i RGB laser projector. By incorporating a completely new chip design, we’ve been able to introduce to the custom integration community a host of groundbreaking performance features,” says Digital Projection VP of operations Mike Akridge. “In a league of its own, the E-Vision 10000i RGB sets a new standard of excellence and we’re thrilled to be able to preview it to integrators at CEDIA Expo.”

RGB Laser

Longest-lasting, lowest-maintenance projectors – with no phosphor wheel or other moving parts in the light path.

HDR

HDR (High Dynamic Range) defines the relationship between the video signal and the corresponding display performance (color, contrast, and brightness). It removes the limitations presented by older video signals and creates images with a broader range of colors and detail in both the bright and dark areas of the image. HDR-capable displays can read the updated format and show an image built from a wider gamut of color and brightness. HDR video simply contains more data to describe more steps in between the extremes. This means that bright objects and dark objects on the same screen can be shown to high degrees of brightness and darkness if the display supports it, with all the necessary steps in between described in the signal and not synthesized by the image processor.

Similarly, HDR-compatible displays can produce deeper and more vivid reds, greens, and blues, and show more color variation in between. Deep shadows aren’t simply black voids; more details can be seen in the darkness, while the picture stays dark. Bright shots aren’t simply sunny, vivid pictures; fine details in the brightest surfaces remain clear. Vivid objects aren’t simply saturated; more degrees of color can be seen.
