Dating back to 1930, the iconic and luxurious The Pierre hotel sits at the corner of Central Park and 5th Avenue, in the heart of New York City. A prime spot for high society weddings, illustrious galas, haute couture fashion shows, and prestigious corporate conferences, The Pierre offers a unique experience of white-glove elegance and top-notch hospitality for the discerning traveler. Well-appointed, high-performance AV solutions enhance the elegant atmosphere throughout the opulent hotel; the crème de la cream, a custom 16-by-9-foot Digital Projection Radiance LED videowall standing front and center in the spacious, luxe Grand Ballroom.

Its remarkable versatility resonated strongly with The Pierre’s technical managers, who were looking for a display that worked just as well as a visual backdrop for high-profile fashion shows as it would for presenting materials during executive conferences. Adds Jason Diller of King Cole Audio Visual Service Inc., The Pierre hotel’s in-house AV provider for 15 years, “Plus, attendees and presenters can sit or stand wherever they like and the lights can stay on or off without impacting the image quality. The videowall is forgiving of variable room conditions so it works well for this multi-purpose event space.” Only the room’s pillars stood in the way of a great view, so King Cole Audio Visual Service added two Digital Projection E-Vision 15000 single-chip laser projectors. Each projector is paired with a Da-Lite screen positioned at either side of the Radiance videowall.
